About

IMG_5068

We take middle and high school students of varying experience levels, meeting them where they are with quality instruction. Our organization has placed highly in the Pacific Northwest Middle School Debate League, with debaters in all three divisions winning various awards. Many of our middle and high schoolers also compete in local and national LD tournaments, with debaters placing at the MSTOC national championship and various high school TOC tournaments.

Additionally, our goal is to make debate as accessible as possible. To that end, we offer our bi-weekly lessons for FREE

Enrollment

We hope to take every student who is interested in the program. However, due to the volume of applicants and limited capacity, we are unable to immediately take every student who applies. We open the program to new students at the end of every season (2-3 months) through an informal tryout process, and individual spots will occasionally open up during the course of a season. We will notify everyone who fills out the sign up form when there are openings in the program.

We do not expect debaters to come in with any debate experience. In fact, we strongly encourage students with no prior knowledge to join. Our enrollment process prioritizes taking students who are excited to learn and able to consistently attend practice. Pursuant to our goal of expanding access to education, we also prioritize taking students who do not have school debate programs (although we will accept students from all schools). Our goal is to take students at any level, and provide them with the experience necessary to succeed.

Additionally, we are unable to take elementary school students, only middle and high schoolers.
